* Kente refers to a Ghanaian (west African), textile made of handwoven cloth strips of silk and cotton. Traditionally associated with royalty amongst Ashanti and Ewe ethnic groups.
* Ankara, also known as wax cloth, African print, Holland wax, Dutch wax cloth has its origins in Indonesia. Batik is an Indonesian technique of using wax on cloth before using dye. The colourful prints were introduced to Africa by a Dutch entrepreneur becoming very popular in west Africa and east Africa where it is known as Kitenge.
